Where are the Hymns?

May 29, 2020May 29, 2020 ~ hymnsandhome ~ Leave a comment

A few months ago, a friend and former choir member at church who follows my blog asked me an interesting question: "Where are the hymns?"

Simplicity, calm, and beauty. That’s what I’m trying to create in my home these days. I am sometimes asked where I find my dishes - the ones on my walls, in my hutch, etc. The answer is always the same - thrift stores. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a vintage dish anywhere besides a thrift store. Almost everything in this photo is vintage and thrifted (or free)! Spring is definitely my favorite season. After a long, cold winter we receive bursts of warmth in place of cold, freshness in place of the stale, and new life in place of death. So much anticipation of seedlings leading to an eventual harvest of fresh produce, lovely walks in the sunshine and kids running around the yard without having to be bundled. So much to love! Spring Tablescape: In the Garden with Peter Rabbit - new on the blog! Here she is! 😄💚 If you guessed green, you got it. I finally decorated my entryway for Spring! Some of you saw in stories that I finally took my Christmas/Valentine’s decor down like…ahem…two weeks ago 🙈 I had seriously been putting it off because I just felt uninspired and was dreading taking down my garland because it would feel so empty. Then it dawned on me to create a Spring garland! I’ll be sharing that process on here later today! Happy Spring! 🌷 Simple Spring Centerpiece 🌷
