Welcome to the Hymns & Home Weekly Recipe Share!

This week we’re featuring “Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake” by Sally’s Baking Addiction. What’s not to like about a giant cookie?! I thought it a fitting share this weekend as my blog and IG account are celebrating their first birthdays! Did I make a cake for the occasion? Haha, no, I actually made this for my brother’s birthday.
Sally’s recipe is a must-have for any celebration! The cookie has a lovely texture and when paired with her “Favorite Chocolate Buttercream,” it’s delightfully decadent!
Tip: Plan your icing lettering and don’t run out of room like me! (B-Day instead of birthday) Haha. In all seriousness, if you want to decorate your cake but don’t own piping bags or tips, just put your icing down in the corner of a ziplock bag, twist the top so the icing won’t come out the top, and snip off a tiny bit of the corner of the bag. Voila – instant piping bag. That’s what I used for the lettering here, though I do own piping tips & used those for the border. The more you snip off the corner, the larger your stream of icing will be.

I love to try new recipes! Feel free to send some my way, either in comments below or message me on social media!
