I know we haven’t known each other that long (a guess for a few of you, we have!), but I want you to know something: I would never recommend something to you if it didn’t fit into all three of these categories:
- I own and use it.
- I love it.
- I think you will enjoy it or be helped by it.
End of story! If it doesn’t meet those requirements, I’m not going to recommend it on here! That being said, you probably saw the disclaimer at the top that informs you of “affiliate links.” Say what? Well, if you haven’t had a chance to read about what those are, feel free to visit my disclosure page and read the short blurb. Basically, it means this: if you click one of my links and purchase something, I might make a small commission from it.
Let me be clear: I am not recommending items because I will make money from them. I actually signed up to be a Grove affiliate because I love their items and would recommend them anyway! (So why not help my family while doing so?)
Alrighty, so if you’ve read this far and are still with me, thanks! Let’s get to the good stuff, okay? 🙂
What is Grove Collaborative, anyway?
Grove is a “customizable auto-shipment service that delivers all-natural home, beauty, and personal care products directly to your door.”
Their aim? “To make living a healthy lifestyle easy and accessible for you and your family.”
I have discovered all sorts of cool new products through Grove and have loved almost every one of them. If I haven’t loved it, Grove’s incredible customer service has righted any wrong and made sure that I am one happy customer! I am a part of their VIP program, so I get free shipping, plus free VIP gifts and early access to products!
So what are some of my favorite products from Grove?
Of the various Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products available, I regularly use the dish soap, hand soap, and multi-surface cleaner. What do I like so much about them? Quite simply, they work well and they smell fabulous! If I’m going to do dishes and clean the kitchen anyway, why not enjoy the scent as I clean? There are a core group of scents that are available year-round, and others that are seasonal. Here are some of my favorites:
Fall: Acorn Spice and Mum (available in Fall)
Year-round: Basil and Honeysuckle
Winter: Iowa Pine (available in Winter)
Spring: Lilac and Mint (available in Spring)
Mrs. Meyer’s products are actually what introduced me to Grove in the first place! I subscribe to a blog, and the blogger alerted readers about a deal like the one I’m about to offer to you! New Grove customers can get a Free Mrs. Meyer’s Fall Bundle with the purchase of $20 of Grove products. If you’re interested in trying out Grove, this is totally the way to jump on board! Just click the link above or the picture below!
Note: I just got an email yesterday that they’re starting to sell out of these scents, so if you want them, do it now!
These sponges are my favorite. They are made of crushed walnuts and vegetable cellulose – how cool is that? They work well, last a decently long time, and I just throw them in the dishwasher to sanitize them!
And guess what! If you go get that Free Mrs. Meyer’s Fall Bundle that I mentioned above, it includes a pack of these scrubber sponges! Win!
I have to wear gloves when I wash dishes and bottles or my hands dry out so badly that they crack and bleed after just one day (which is especially not what you want when you play the organ as a profession!). These are by far the nicest cleaning gloves I have ever had. They are a bit more expensive than, say, Playtex or whatever store-brand rubber gloves you might find, but I feel like they fit better, last longer, and they don’t make my hands sweat, even in hot water (this is because they are lined with nylon flocking). They also have slip-resistant fingertips, so you’re less likely to drop slippery dishes!
I have thin hands and long fingers, and I prefer the small-medium size. The fingers are just a tad too short for me (I have very long fingers), but I’d rather the rest of the glove fit snuggly than have long enough fingers with a saggy glove. Highly recommend these if you like wearing gloves when you do the dishes or clean the house!
When my son was a baby and I was doing the whole brand-new-mom thing, I started out using Aveeno baby wash for his baths. I figured Aveeno is generally known as being good for sensitive skin. Well, baby boy didn’t have a problem with it – mommy did. I began to notice that every time I would give him a bath, the backs of my hands would crack and bleed. It didn’t matter how much lotion I used or anything. (Can’t use those cleaning gloves when washing the baby, I’m afraid! 😉 ). I found this shampoo and body wash by Babo Botanicals on Grove and decided to give it a try. We’ve been using it for well over 2 years now, including on baby girl, and none of us have had any problems with it! Yay for no more cracking hands! It smells nice, gets the kiddos clean, and is free of a lot of synthetic junk. If you’re concerned about the price, keep in mind that a little goes a long way. Seriously, one container lasted us at least 8 months! (And yes, my children get bathed regularly!)
I received this mint & argan lip balm as a free gift for being part of the VIP program, and I love it! It leaves my lips feeling smooth and the scent is just so refreshing! I also really recommend Grove’s cardamom lip balm – it’s so yummy for Fall and Winter – but I’m not seeing it on their site right now, which is a bummer! I’ll let you know if they bring it back because it’s sooo good!
A few other products I’ve enjoyed:
This sweet little bottle fits in your purse and the blood-orange scent is soooo pleasant and fresh! It doesn’t smell chemical-ly like most hand sanitizers (can’t stand that smell!).
Works great, toxin-free, uses essential oils, and smells fabulous! What more could you ask for in a glass cleaner?
I love that this cleaner is child/pet-friendly – free of so many nasty ingredients normally found in cleaners. It’s able to kill 99.9% of household germs while smelling fresh and minty to boot! This is the only cleaner I use in our bathrooms (aside from glass cleaner on the mirrors) and for, shall we say, bodily fluid cleanup. I have a toddler and a baby, what can I say?
I would classify Caldrea hand soaps and lotions more like luxury items. They are definitely more pricey than Mrs. Meyer’s brand, but they smell oh-so-good! Sweet Pea is my Mother-in-Law’s favorite, and she gets a bottle of it every Christmas. 🙂 I love the smell of the seasonal “Gilded Balsam Birch!”
Have you tried out Grove? What are some of your favorite products? Drop me a line and let me know – I’d love to hear from you!
